An attempt is also made in the study through (secondary data) to highlight the concept of computerized accounting, the challenges facing accounting profession, the historical background of Federal Polytechnic Bida, the historical development of accounting profession and roles and needs of computerized accounting. The researcher adopted the primary source of data to present an analysis, the information of the study. The researcher discovered amongst others that computer has a significant contribution to the accounting profession. On this research the researcher was able to identify the challenges of computer application to accounting, to highlight the importance of computer and its relevance to accounting, from the objectives this question was asked how important is computer literacy to the accounting profession and what hardware and software application are needed in accounting. Therefore the researcher discovered areas which other accounting professionals are suffering a lot of old methods and machines used in accounting which makes the growth very sluggish, lack of skills and knowledge of computer in the organization and inadequate computer hardware and other software in preparation of account which results to major problem application of computer.
