Heavy metal constituents of edible food grown around electronic waste dump site in Yenagoa

Abstract
Electronic waste (E-waste) has become a subject of growing environmental and health concern in developing countries (including Nigeria) due to its implication owing to poor disposal and management procedure of the huge volume of e-waste turn out on daily basis and has found it way into the food chain. The heavy metal constituents of some vegetables and soils sample from a farm close to e-waste and non-e-waste dumpsite were evaluated. The farms were within Yenagoa local government area (the state capital) Bayelsa State Nigeria. The vegetables examined were Scent leaf, Pumpkin leaf, Okro, and Maize. The plants and soil samples were collected from the farm in August 2019 during the peak of the rainfall. The plant samples were washed with tap water and rinsed with distilled water and then cut into smaller pieces with a kitchen knife....
