It informed the health officers on the understanding of mothers regarding the prevention of worm infestation. Among the objectives was to determine the knowledge of mothers attending paediatric clinics on worm infestation and to determine the practice of mothers towards prevention of worm infestation. Furthermore, to ascertain the factors influencing the practice of mothers towards the prevention of worm infestation. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research uses descriptive survey to sample parents in the study area. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 64 questionnaires were distributed out of which 64 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that education is the cornerstone of any effective strategy to remove the barrier towards optimal prevention of worm infestation. Mothers should be health educated on the proper way of preventing warm infestation. While, nurses should not try to force their ways on the patients, rather influence their decision making in love by making them see reasons to follow medical prescriptions for the prevention of worm infestation.
