Abstract
This project work was carried out primarily on the impact of improvisation in teaching and learning Chemistry in some selected secondary schools in Dala local government of Kano state. The project is divided into five chapters and the project utilized both the primary and secondary methods of data collection where the primary source were analyzed and a conclusion drawn from the findings revealed by the analysis and the secondary were mainly used for reviewing the literature. The population of the study was 200 students, fifty from each secondary school by the principals of the four randomly selected schools through random sampling technique. The findings of the study revealed that improvised instructional material helps the creativity of students even though the instructional material is not adequate and efficient, but when understood it was found out that it increases their creativity. The study, therefore, recommended that as an interim measure, the chemistry teachers at present should undergo an orientation course during vocations to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the teaching of the subject. Along with this direction, such teachers should make use of the opportunity offered by the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) at its annual workshop thereby boosting their performance to knowledge and skill on using instructional material....
