The soft drinks were purchased at Otefe-Oghara. The instrument used includes a Hand refractometer, Beaker, Conical flask, Pipette, Weighing balance, and Volumetric flask, while chemicals include Sugar (cube and granulated), Distilled water, Soft drinks (La’Casera, Schweppes, and Sprite). One to two (1-2) drops of each of the soft drinks were placed on the hole of the refractometer, focused on a light source and a reading was taken. The results showed that La’Casera has more sugar content of 10.2% (39.55g (8 cubes) per 35cl, Sprite with 8.8% (34.3g (7 cubes) per 35cl, while Schweppes is the least amongst them with 8.2% (30.0g (6 cubes) per 33cl. Recommend Daily Amount (RDA) of sugar for men (36g) and for adult women (24g).
