Abstract
The study explored the impact of physics teaching resources on secondary school students’ attitudes and academic performance in Nigeria. A sample of 160 students was drawn from G.S.S Mayanchi and G.S.S Dankurmi, using intact classes and random sampling. They were divided into experimental and control groups and taught for six weeks using physics teaching resources and the lecture method, respectively. Assessment tools included Physics Performance Test (PPT) and Physics Students’ Attitude Questionnaire (PSAQ). Four objectives were set, including evaluating the impact of physics teaching resources on academic performance. Four research questions were answered, one of which focused on the effect of these resources on academic performance in Maru Education Zone. Four null hypotheses were tested with statistical methods. The key findings indicated significant differences in attitude scores between the experimental and control groups, as well as in academic performance scores. However, there were no significant gender-based differences in attitude or academic performance within the experimental group. The study recommends the incorporation of physics teaching resources to enhance students’ learning experiences. It highlights the positive impact of these resources on academic performance and attitudes, fostering meaningful learning and a favorable outlook towards Physics. This study underscores the importance of utilizing teaching resources to improve Physics education....
