Production of black and brown shoe polish from local materials Department: Science Technology By: juliusmjoshua Project ID: 7135 Rating: (5.0) votes: 1Rate this project12345 Price:₦3000 Get the Complete MaterialAbstractTwo brands (black and brown) of shoe polish of beeswax formula were produced locally using the same common ingredients such as beeswax, paraffin oil, palm kernel, turpentine oil and dyestuff. A measured proportion of emulsions, dyestuff and gum Arabic powder were added to melted beeswax(150g) at about 85oC and was stirred continuously until a foaming paste was obtained. The polish obtained was suitable for the type of our tropical climates(hot). The polish was tested and was found to be good, and it produced a good shine. The melting point was found to be 42oC a property that makes its use suitable for tropical climates. The raw materials are readily available locally so their commercial production can be a viable venture.
