Abstract
This study investigated the impact of the School Feeding Program (SFP) on primary school enrollment in Gombe State, Nigeria. Guided by the theories of Abraham Maslow, the research aimed to assess the program's effectiveness in improving nutritional well-being, attendance, academic performance, and enrollment rates. A descriptive research design employing a mixed-methods approach was adopted. Data was collected through questionnaires administered to 213 participants (teachers, administrators, and parents) and content analysis of documentary sources. The findings revealed that the SFP has a positive influence on several key factors, including improved nutritional well-being, increased attendance and enrollment, enhanced academic performance, and reduced financial burdens on families. However, challenges related to inconsistent meal delivery, insufficient funding, and inadequate infrastructure were identified. Based on the research, recommendations are made for increased funding allocation, improved training for kitchen staff, partnerships with local communities, infrastructure development, regular surveys and assessments, and enhanced monitoring and evaluation. The study concludes that the SFP plays a significant role in promoting primary school enrollment and student well-being in Gombe State, with further improvement dependent on addressing identified challenges....
