Health Information Management (HIM) professionals are healthcare providers dedicated to the effective management of patient's information, the problem that led to the study is that there are complications in record-keeping that affects healthcare delivery, some of these issues have been traced to the inaccessibility of patients’ record, unsecured Patients’ data, absence of health information coordination/ management, untrained personnel. Complicated/poor record keeping usually leads to long patient waiting times. The major objective of this research is to determine the impact of health information Management in healthcare delivery, a case study of University of Benin Teaching hospital (UBTH). The specific objectives includes: to determine if health information management is limited to registration and documentation of patients, to identify the impact of health information management in healthcare delivery, to find out the roles and responsibility of health information management professionals in the development and maintenance of health record system., this was done through a systematic review of relevant works of literature, A preliminary systematic review was done by using a stratified random sampling technique to select respondents, the study used a structured questionnaire to gather primary data from the respondents .
