It informed the health officers on the understanding of health records officers on confidentiality practices in the hospital. Among the objectives was to identify the measures that are in place for maintaining the confidentiality of patient health records in the hospital by the management of Federal Medical Center Owo. (Annex) in Oka Akoko Ondo State. Furthermore, to identify the measures that are in place for maintaining the confidentiality of patient health records in the hospital by the management of Federal Medical Center Owo. (Annex) in Oka Akoko Ondo State. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research uses descriptive survey to sample 120 staff of Federal Medical Center Owo. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 120 questionnaires were distributed out of which 115 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that adequate awareness should be given to the staff of health information management about the confidentiality of patient records among the staff, that Untrained personnel in health information management are the hindrance affect the effective confidentiality of patient health records and also that adequate policy should be on ground and guideline to secure the confidentiality of patient health records among the staff.
