It informed the health officers on the understanding of students regarding online education. Among the objectives is to determine the perceptions of nursing students towards online education at School of Nursing, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital and to assess the level of participation of student nurses in School of Nursing, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital online education. Furthermore, to identify the challenges associated with online education among student nurses in the School of Nursing, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. This research uses descriptive survey to sample student nurses of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 121 questionnaires were distributed out of which 112 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that lecturers should upload the class assignment through WhatsApp or other functional platforms thereby giving room for many more students to develop an interest in online class. And the school should have good and stable internet connectivity and grant free access to their usage by both the lecturers and the students. This will offer a good opportunity in interconnecting all the students and lecturers for virtual classrooms learning. Lastly, the Nigerian government should establish, in tertiary institutions, virtual classroom learning environment support centers to help meet the technological needs of the students.
