Abstract
This project work was conducted to assess the level of utilization of the nursing process among nurses in General Hospital Ilorin. It informed the health officers on the understanding of nurses regarding the utilization of the nursing process. Among the objectives is to identify factors affecting the low utilization of the nursing process in General Hospital Ilorin and to determine the level of knowledge of Nurses on the nursing process in General Hospital Ilorin. Furthermore, to fulfill an award of Diploma Certificate in Ophthalmic Nursing. This research use descriptive survey to sample nurses in General Hospital Ilorin. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 55 questionnaires were distributed out of which 50 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that education is the cornerstone of any effective strategy for the utilization of the nursing process, nurses should be well educated on the uses and importance of utilizing the nursing process. The hospital policy should be a kind that favors the maximum utilization of the nursing process for effective healthcare delivery.
