It is when localized tissue gets deprived of blood circulation due to soft tissue compressed between external surfaces and bony prominences for a prolonged time. The objectives of the study are to assess the level of knowledge of nurses regarding pressure ulcer prevention and treatment to determine nurses' level of practice regarding pressure ulcer prevention and treatment and to assess the factors influencing nurses' practice of pressure ulcer prevention and treatment. The study employed a quantitative research design. Statistical Package for Service Solution (SPSS) version 21.0 was used as the method of data analysis. A total of 103 questionnaires were distributed and 101 were retrieved. A convenient sampling technique was used for available respondents at the time of data collection. Findings from the analysis revealed that nurses are aware of the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcer. The nurses have good knowledge regarding pressure ulcer prevention and treatment (91.19%), while few had poor knowledge (8.81%). The findings on the practice of pressure ulcer prevention and treatment revealed that the majority of nurses engage in pressure ulcer prevention and treatment such as turning the patient's position every two hours (59.41%) and avoiding dragging the patients during repositioning (77.23%). Lastly, recommendations were made that a training program on pressure ulcer prevention should be organized for Nurses in order to improve their knowledge and skills of practice.
