The objectives of this study were to find out if motivation can serve as a strategy in reducing fraudulent acts in most Nigerian industries especially banking industry. The instrument for data collected was self-structured like questionnaire. This study is going to look into the following: the impact of motivation, an employee’s performance and job satisfaction in Nigerian banking industry. Whether motivation used as a tool for improving workers performance can also facilitate transparency and accountability such that fraud is minimized, if not completely eradicated. Chapter two focuses on the review of related literature. The research examined the peoples view on motivation, the role of motivation in preventing and controlling fraud in an organization and also the meaning and effect of bank fraud. The third chapter deals with the design of the study which comprised the methodology, population of the study, instrument of data collection, reliability of the instrument and the method of data collection, data analysis used in analyzing data. Chapter four analyzed the data collected through the use of questionnaires showing the total respondents responses on the issue.
