Using Federal Polytechnic Cooperative Thrift and Loan Society as a case study. Five research questions framed the study viz, what do your members save monthly, the type of loan administered, what are the purpose for which loan is given in the society, what is the interest rate and the repayments terms of loans of trained. Qualitative data collected were based on the respondent’s ratings. Analysis from the sample data shows that provision of consumer goods at affordable prices, capital formation opportunities in the form of thrift loan shares and dividend payments and attracts and sustain membership of thrift societies. However, lack of trust, transparency and innovative management techniques challenge the administration of these societies in pubic organization.
