Abstract
The study investigated the effect of the restriction of transport motor cycle activities (Okada) within Minna metropolis of Chanchaga local government area of Niger state. The collapse of public inter-city transport system pave way for the rise motorcycles as means of public transportation in Nigeria. Popularly referred to as Okada motorcycles are used for public transportation in most Nigerian towns and cities. In many places, they have displaced the use of motor cars for public intra-city transportation. It is patronized by the populace because of the advantages it has over taxis and buses. Its use for commercial purposes has impacted significantly on the economy and society. Three research questions and three null hypotheses were formulated and tested the result revealed that although there was a decrease in the rata of accidents related to motorcycle, the inhabitants of Minna are having problems as a result of the restriction. ...
