The researcher set out to achieve the following objectives: To carry out the study as regards the contributions of cooperative to agricultural and infrastructure provision in development in Ahiazu Mbaise L.G.A in Imo State. The design of the study was in the form of a descriptive survey meant to know how cooperative has been an instrument to rural development. The population of this study consists of farmers that belong to cooperative societies in Ahiazu Mbaise. The sample size of this research was 250 farmers. From the analysis, it is discovered that cooperative as an instrument has contributed to the lives of rural dwellers in Ahiazu Mbaise local government area. The following recommendations were made: solution to the problem of inadequate capital which is militating against the development of the rural areas is to increase shareholders taking loans from an outside source.
