Abstract
This research work is the examination of the impact of noise pollution on the residential property values in Enugu metropolis. Noise pollution is mostly human-generated whether by machine or amplifier sound of human creation. Noise pollution is a disturbance in the environment. The statement of the problem includes a reduction in the rental value of residential properties, lack of concentration on the side of students. The aim of the study is to analyze the impact of noise pollution on the residential property values in Enugu metropolis which can be achieved through the following objectives: To find out the impact of noise pollution on the health of inhabitants of Enugu metropolis to investigate the effect of noise pollution on the rental values of residential property in the case areas to determine the extent of noise pollution on the case study area, to create awareness for inhabitant and to investigate the sources of noise in the Enugu Metropolis. The research methodology adopted is survey research method used to collect requisite data. Questionnaire was designed and distributed to residential occupants on a selected area of Enugu metropolis. The population of the study comprises of landlords, tenants, estate surveyors and values. The study shows that people generally give a positive answer when asked about their preference for a serene area but other parameters are decisive in the choice of residence. It also shows that government and public participation in urban noise pollution control in the study area is nonexistent. The influence of noise on property rent reflects social law because people are often not aware of or do not consider the prolonged impact of noise health....
