Abstract
The concept of sociological groups among individuals can be traced to be a time or period of hardship experienced by some underprivileged to better their lot they felt a need for self-help and self-reliance this ignited the formation of sociological groups. It is therefore on the above premise that many sociological groups today took their bearings. The researcher''s aim of embarking on this project work is informed by the very fact that the formation and growth of sociological groups have assisted tremendously to the national development. The project will aim to attend to various impacts or benefits which sociological groups have on the economy with particular reference to Mbaitoli Local Government Imo State. In this study and analysis of data collected this was used in achieving the objective of the study. Some of the findings are: 1. where those both the low and high-income earners benefit from the existence of sociological groups 2. that low-income earners due to their capital base have a nonchalant attitude towards sociological groups ...
