A lot of challenges were hindering the effective practice of the HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HIM) profession in Nigeria, ranging from lack of trained personnel, inadequate updated working materials, professional rivalry, lack of professionalism with quackery and incompetency as major problems. Eventually, the profession receives the highest consideration in the field of medicine, that projects/programs that are ongoing or newly establish can never run without the role of that profession. NGOs, Partners, Government Policy on health care delivery sudden arises, the fore mention agencies/reasons makes the profession as highly competitive in colleges and school of health sciences. Notwithstanding the high request of the services, however, as with every other profession, it’s moving along with its practicing challenges. Health information management roles in the field of medicine and public health sciences can never be over-emphasis as it even becomes the bedrock of medical practices, it is often said.
