Abstract
Nollywood, noted as machinery for cultural propagation, now inculcate the trend of glamorizing nude elements in performance. The aim and objective of this long essay, therefore, is to bring to the fore the cause of the surge in this trend as it portends to us a people: Using the literary and historical research method, the study employs the use of journals, magazines, books and internet materials. The study reveals that nudity in Nollywood movies does not fully reflect the African society thereby lacking African cultural aesthetics. Based on these findings, the study recommends among other things, that parents should be well guided on the type of movies they expose their children to, and the National Film and Video Censor’s Board (NFVCB) should b more alive to their responsibility in scrutinizing the type and content of video films chunked out of Nollywood....
