Information was collected from both primary and secondary sources. The population of the study consisted of members of staff of Ecobank International plc. A total of seventy (70) staff of the bank were consulted in order to elicit information from them regarding the subject matter. Simple percent(5) was used for the analysis of the research questions while chi-square(x2)was used for the test of hypothesis. From the study, it is observed that the introduction of data processing system in the financial industry, especially banks have resulted in a significant increase in the efficiency and effectiveness of those institutions, management information system is more than ever before timely and comprehensive. Based on the result of the study the following recommendations are advanced. Banks in Nigeria should explore the possibility of becoming members of SWIFT (Society for worldwide inter-bank financial telecommunication), SWIFT is an international communication commonly worldwide.
