Abstract
Soil samples collected from a trial pit at depth 0.5m, 1.0m, and 1.5m, were studied to determine its index properties. Testing including sieve analysis, specific gravity, Atterberg limit, compaction test, CBR test, natural moisture content was conducted for the samples. It was observed that the liquid limit for the point B location decreased from 26.1% at depth 0.5m to 21.14% at depth 1.5m. The plastic limit also varied from 9.8% at depth 0.5m to 14.0% at depth 1.5m for the point B location. The maximum CBR value for Point B was 88% at 0.5m, 83% at 1.0m, and 89% at 1.5m while point A 1.5m was 83%. The soil for point B was classified A– 6 (1.1) at 0.5m, A-4 (1.6) at 1.0m and A-2-4 (0). Point A 1.5m was also classified as A-2-4 (0).  The soil profiles studied point A 1.5m and point B 1.5m composed of silty or clayey gravel and sand, point B 0.5 composed of clayey soil, and 1.0m composed of silty soil...
