Abstract
The research focused on factors influencing the attitude of women towards family planning in Atan Local Government Area. Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. This research design was considered appropriate because it allows the researcher to make inferences and generalizations of the population by selecting and studying the sample of the study. A sample of hundred (100) married women was drawn from the five (5) communities in Atan Local Government Area. It, therefore, means that twenty (20) married women were randomly selected from each of the five (5) communities chosen for the study that is hundred (100) married women. The purpose of simple random sampling technique was to ensure that, the population under the study was equally represented in the sample. The questionnaire was the main instrument for data collection.  It was designed by the researcher under the supervisor’s guide that gave its face and content validity. To test the hypothesis to establish whether to reject or retain them, independent t-test analysis was involved to test the hypotheses based on the nature of variables involved in the hypotheses directing the study. The 0.05 level of significance was used for the statistical testing of each of the hypotheses with 98 degrees of freedom. The results of the analysis exposed that educational background, culture religion and economic status affect family planning services among rural women. It was recommended that every couple should be encouraged to visit the family planning providers so as to enlighten the couples on various family planning choices that will meet their economic status....
