In order to effectively carry out this work, four research questions were raised and a descriptive (Case study) design was adopted while simple random sampling technique was used in selecting a sample of 109 respondents from the total population of one hundred and fifty (150) records staff in UBTH. A self-constructed and validated questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. They were all administered to One hundred and nine (109) respondents and all were adequately filled and retrieved. The results gotten from the respondents showed that most of the Health Information managers have good knowledge of the influence of health and vital statistics in the control of epidemics in the hospital, this was seen in the positive majority responses of the respondents to the questions asked in the questionnaire.
