Abstract
The research work focused on the influence of billboard advertising on the patronage of Pepsi Cola in Abak Local Government Area. The objectives were to find out whether the people of Abak Local Government Area are exposed to billboard advertising of Pepsi Cola, to examine the influence of billboard advertising on the patronage of Pepsi Cola in Abak Local Government Area, to examine what motivates the interest of Abak people to patronize in Pepsi Cola and to ascertain the extent billboard advertising contributes to the patronage of Pepsi Cola in Abak Local Government Area. The researcher used the survey design method. The population used for this study was 187,895 being the official national population census figure of Abak residents in 2015. The sample size for this study was 396, which were made of males and females who reside within Abak Local Government Area. The instrument for data collection was the questionnaire. Findings showed that the residents of Abak Local Government Area are highly exposed to billboard advertising of Pepsi cola products and the billboard advertising has a greater impact on the choice of Pepsi products. The study recommends that companies should endeavor to use billboards to advertise their products since a greater number of people are influenced by them, there is need for products to be delicious in order to attract a lot of consumers, and that billboards should be located at a vantage position were all residents of Abak Local Government Area can be exposed to. Lastly, billboard advertising of Pepsi Cola products have contributed positively to the consumer’s choice of choosing Pepsi Cola products. ...
