Implication of family planning among the married women - case study of Specialist Hospital, Sokoto

Abstract
More than 100 million women in less developed countries or about 17 percent of all married women, would prefer to avoid a pregnancy but are not using any form of family planning due to fear of its implication to them. Numerous studies reveal that a range of obstacles other than physical access to services prevents married women from using family planning. Due to this, policymakers and program managers are trying to strengthen family planning programs by considering the characteristics of implications of family planning methods. This study is aimed to study the implication of family planning practice to married women who attend family planning clinics in Women and Children Welfare Clinic, Sokoto. The study found that religious and cultural believes of people did not support the use of family planning, also the majority of women (80%) who attend the family planning clinic have good knowledge of contraception....
