Abstract
In construction projects, the need for effective management control has been the main research subject due to the importance of the construction industry and several activities involved in the industry. Control system is the most important function that facilities construction organizations in accomplishing their objectives: therefore it influences the performance construction industry. Its aim is to compare actual work going on against planned work performance and make corrections when deviation occurs. Unfortunately, most construction firms have lost efficient operation which has affected their performance in the industry because they neglect and give less attention to management control. This research work looks into the concept of management control and its impact on the construction industry aim cont investigate the relationship between management control performance and examine its effect on construction projects and tested. In this research, primary and secondary data were utilized while Pearson correlation was used to analyze the data collected. However, it was found out that management control has an impact on construction project performance which, therefore, exposes the existence of the relationship between the variable. Also, the result shows that management control has an effect on the quality of construction project implementation. In conclusion, the researcher recommends that all construction firms should adopt and practice management control as a means of monitoring the progress of construction works. In doing so there should be an effort to put in place appropriate and adequate control and information systems that would create a participative environment for the successful implementation of projects. ...
