Forty-four albino wister rats randomized into nine groups of 3 animals each were treared with atmal-plus, Fasnmet, Camosunate, the control group treated with feed and water only and alcohol only. A locally selected brand of beer for forty days were treated with graded concentrations of the selected beer. The mean percentage parasitemia treated using standard methods. Results showed that groups treated with Atmal + beer were significantly (p0.05) reduced compared to the negative control and significantly (p0.05) decreased compared to the Atmal + no beer. And significantly (p0.05) decreased when compared to the Fanmet + beer, and Camosunate + beer with the negative control. In the activities of serum alanine and aspartate amino transferase, alkaline phosphates, haemoglobin and red blood cell count, the showed that the mean serum liver enzyme activities, RBC and HB were significantly (p0.05)elevated when compared to the normal control. The findings suggests that intake of antimalarial drugs 1hour before beer consumption can pose a negative effect on the drug bio-availability of the drug thereby, reducing its effectiveness....Preview Download Preview +Other Science Technology project topics and materials you might be interested in»Bacteriological qualities of food thickener deuterium microcarpum (ofor) and brachystegia eurcycoma (achi) sold in Owerri main market»Obstacle detection robot with ultrasonic sensor»Antitrypanosomal activity of ethanol extract of Tridax Procumbent leaf and whole flower on T.
