Abstract
With the increasing rate of unemployment in Nigeria and overdependence of youths on white-collar jobs as well as the rate of development in other nations, there is the need to look out for various ways in which employment can be created hence an increase in the earnings of the people hence development. There is no need to look in one direction for solutions to these problems that is why this research was embarked upon to identify and portray how co-operative business can contribute to employment creation and economic development. How co-operative businesses can generate employment has been identified, and the problems they encounter in doing so and recommended solutions are also a part of the research. ...
