Marketing cooperative society is a cooperative society that helps producers to accomplish collectively functions they could not achieve on their own. The objective of this work is to identify the importance of cooperatives in the application of market variables in the marketing of agricultural products, to identify how agricultural cooperatives operate to solve the problems of the farmers. Relevant literatures and references were reviewed. This study was survey research and sample size of 30 was drawn from a population of 69 marketing cooperative members of three selected marketing cooperative societies. The study concluded that marketing cooperative plays an important role in the marketing of agricultural products by reducing cost for individual farmers, eliminating middlemen etc. The study also recommended that the construction of good roads should be done by the government, there is also a need for the provision of modern equipment and finally, marketing cooperatives should hire the service of trained managers to improve the performance of the society.   ...
