Sometimes it is said that knowledge is power, but the misapplication of knowledge is disastrous. In view of this, this study has examined the level of contractors’ health and safety awareness and compliance and the impact of adherence to health and safety on project performance on construction sites. This study demonstrates that the state of compliance with safety regulations in the Nigerian construction industry is poor.
