The study revealed that the available resources and services in the library were found to be inadequate and in most cases inappropriate. This situation was credited to the poor funding of the Imo State library. It also revealed that the library lacks the capability and competence to provide translation services to the users of the community. The study revealed that the major users were students, research scholars, lecturers, businessmen and women. Finally, the public library remains the image maker of Imo state. The resources and services of the library exist for the public both male and female. The library is expected to provide users orientation services, aiming at satisfying the general public, through the provision of appropriate information resources and services such as advisory services, strategic leadership and information on local content that incorporates indigenous knowledge systems into it. There is a need for fund improvement for the library as well as raising the awareness of the library services to the public. ...Preview Download Preview +Other Library and Information Science project topics and materials you might be interested in»Staff Motivation in Academic Libraries»The effect of social media on reading culture among students»Annotated bibliography on information and communication technology»Library catalogue utilization among students in academic libraries - a case study of Federal Polytechnic Idah library»Effects of poor implementation of collection development policy in academic libraries»Product marketing: a strategic step for libraries in the information age (a case study of Imo state library board, Owerri)»Awareness and utilization of electronic information resources by library and information science students (a case study of Nnamdi Azikiwe university, Awka) »Information needs and information seeking behaviour of children in public libraries - a case study of Kwara State library board, Ilorin»Information needs and seeking behaviour of senior non-academic staff of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri»Challenges of ICT applications in law libraries»The availability and utilization of modern information resources in teaching and learning in selected private secondary schools in Owerri metropolis»Challenges of the management of staff appraisal programme in the library of Imo state (a case study of Imo state university)»Annotated bibliography on English language»A study of the information needs of rural health workers in Ebikoro, Owerri north LGA of Imo state»Effects of library on the academic performances of students in tertiary institutions
