It also informed the health officers on the perception of the public of health information management practice in the hospital. Among the objectives is to identify the roles and responsibilities of the health information management profession and the professionals in University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in Kwara State. Furthermore, to highlight the perspectives of the public of health information management professionals and to evaluate the dangers attached to absence of health records profession and the professionals in the hospital. Many medical and allied works of literature were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample 105 staff of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara state. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 105 questionnaires were distributed out of which 100 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that the Health Record Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) should raise war against unqualified people that is practicing the profession and also enforce it that all people practicing as a professional must belong and well registered with (HRORBN), and there should be more training, education and more seminar for all health information management professionals from time to time.
