However despite the choice and enhance the flexibility of e-health data, hospitals are also slow data quality. The study revealed that there is a lack of an effective health information management system in Nigeria due to the prevalence of cumbersome paper-based disjointed health data management systems. The study reviews the benefit of electronic health records which includes improved quality of care, enhanced productivity and efficiency, ability to quickly provide care, ability to coordinate the caregiver. Some challenges of adopting EHRs include the cost of implementation, staff resistance, data migration, lack of proper planning, limited technical resources, lack of communication and others. The study is a descriptive study and a well-structured questionnaire was administered. The study revealed the implementation of the EHR system in the hospital has far resulted in the improvement of keeping records and proper keeping of patient’s medical records.
