The specific objective includes examining if Health Information Professionals partake in the disease control system in Idah Local Government Area, Kogi State, and also to know if Health Information Managers are involved in local, state and national planning of disease notification and control, as well evaluate if the keeping of patients health records helps to determine the prevalence of diseases in Idah local government area, Kogi State. The background of the study is the definition of health information management, diseases, signs and symptoms of disease and type of diseases. The project adopted descriptive survey research design. The study population consisted of 198, a convenience formula For sample determinant adopted by Taro Yamane (1973), Was used by the researcher to determine the sample size of 132 respectively. A total of 132 questionnaires were administered. The response rate achieved was 94 percent (125 questionnaires retrieved). The instrument used for the study was a structured questionnaire that contain two sections Biodata and research questions related to the study. The data obtained were analyzed using a frequency table and simple percentages to answer the research questions posed in the study. Findings shows impacts of health information management professionals on disease control in the study area was quite satisfactory as many of the participants saw health information management as a major part of disease control team and not a burden.
