Abstract
The aim of this project is to design and construct a baby monitoring system with wireless notification. The design considerations for this project are mostly influenced by the proposed users of the system. These users are mothers. Infant care is a challenge to many mothers as they have much to do at home apart from baby caring. The main challenge in this work is amplifying the desired weak signal (baby crying). The construction of the system involved pre amplifier, DC bias amplifier coupled with a microcontroller (PIC 16F877A) and 16X2 LCD. The result of the system is obtained by detecting the baby crying through a microphone and the transmitter sends a signal to the receiver to notify the mother about the baby''s status. The system is tested at several distances i.e 5 m minimum and 70 m maximum.  ...
