A case study of star paper mil, Aba, Abia state. The emphasis is on SMEs, because, growth in SMEs is a sin quo non for vibrant economic growth of the country. More importantly, most multinational businesses in the world today started as small-scale businesses. Thus, strategic planning ensures that the goals and objectives of SMEs in enhancing the growth of the Nigerian economy are achieved. This study x-rays the need for strategic planning and control in actualizing the intended objectives of SMEs in the country. To ensure that this study covered its intended area, the work was divided into five chapters. Chapter one is on the introductory aspect of the research, where insight was given into how the work would be carried out. Chapter two lays emphasis on the contributions of other scholars in the study Area. Chapter three gave the methods used by the research in collecting relevant data and information needed in the research.
