And to identify the ways in which misconception, stigma and false beliefs can be reduced and to identify ways of educating the public about the disease, such as public enlightenment, through mass media, radio, posters etc. The survey design was adopted for data collection involving 200 respondents, random sampling technique was used for the study and questionnaires were developed by the researcher, which was based on the literature reviewed. The questionnaire was self administered to the respondent and 196 were reserved. The questionnaire contained 17 items and tests were retrieved. The questions for each item was structured on four points on the appropriate columns, it was validated and the study was carried out on the knowledge and perception of people towards epileptic patients. The results were analyzed using statistical mean where item mean (x) below 2.5 are regarded as disagreeing while items above 2.5 are regarded as agreed. Based on the findings of the study, it was found that the respondents' awareness was not an issue of concern but, knowledge about the disease which is a strong driving force for the negative perception of the public the factor mostly affecting the people with the disease is the misconception of its contagiousness as indicated especially in contact with fluid from epileptic patients the effects are incapability to carryout skill full duties were identified. And they were also provoked to injury, with these epileptic patients needing public support education and rehabilitation.
