Abstract
The research project critically examines the“Relevance of Desktop publishing on the performance of secretaries in an organization” which was conducted within Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic. Desktop publishing (abbreviated DTP) is the creation of documents using page layout skills on a personal computer. Desktop publishing software can generate layouts and produce topographic quality tax and images comparable to traditional typography and printing. This technology allows secretaries, individuals, businesses and other organizations to self-publish a wide range of printed matter. As the technology of desktop publishing is blowing up by day and more, the secretarial department in all tertiary institutions, including Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic should be fully computerized and provisions should be made for capable and knowledgeable tutors to groom the future secretaries on the operation of desktop publishing in order to meet modern challenges of the world and to enhance their efficiency in their assignments. Thorough research was made to bring to light how important it is for secretaries to be well-armed with the knowledge, of this technology so as to enhance their efficiency in an organization. ...
