This project focuses on the impact of workplace unionism on the management of conflicts in local government areas using Lokoja Local Government as the case study.  The objective of the study is to examine whether workplace unionism have a positive impact on Lokoja Local government administration, to determine whether trade union aid conflict management in local government and to evaluate the significant relationship between workplace unionism and conflicts management in Lokoja Local Government area.  The researcher used survey method of research design being the most commonly used when dealing with human being. Questionnaire was adopted as a result of survey method. The population of the study comprises the management and staff of the Lokoja Local Government which is 692,050 and the sample size 400 was determined using Tairo Yamani’s formula. And chi-square method was used to test the statement of hypothesis earlier formulated. On this note, the findings revealed that trade union provides mechanisms at the place of work that improves communication which can reduce conflict in the LGA, they act as a vehicle for evolutionary social changes, transforming society and helping to address employees' grievances that can lead to conflicts.  To this end, it was recommended that Union leaders should ensure the education of members to remove ignorance and apathetic attitude. This will help them to be well-formed and conscious of their rights. Trade union activities should be given a place of pride at the workplace, their propositions should be objectively and judiciously considered, likewise their opinions and suggestions. Government should improve social services, especially in the areas of education, housing, health care, transportation and other social infrastructure. ...
