The study examines the effect of marketing research on the survival of small-scale enterprises in Kogi State using Chuks supermarket and Ostrich Bakery as the study area. The objective of the study is to examine whether marketing research has a positive effect on business decisions in small and medium scale enterprises,  to examine if marketing  research is necessary for the performance of small scale business enterprises in Kogi State and to determine whether marketing research enhances the profit of small scale enterprises in Kogi state.  Data for the research was sourced from primary and secondary sources. From a population of one hundred and two(102) staff and customers, seventy-eight (78) staff were selected using Taro Yamane formula. Findings among others revealed that marketing research will create a competitive environment that helps lower product prices and marketing research will expand the labour force of small businesses. Thus, it is recommended that the firm should carry out extensive market research on different aspects of the business as market research enables companies to pursue the most lucrative growth opportunities, improves decision making and reduces risk. ...
