Several cost control techniques and processes for standard cost control for construction projects were required, their importance and application were highlighted, and served as necessary background information for the research. Questionnaires were administered to respondents in Katsina State as a case study. A total of twenty completed copies of questionnaires were collected out of the total of twenty-five copies that were distributed. The percentage of the response is therefore 80%. The identified ways and techniques for cost control were rated by the respondents. From the analysis of the responses, the examined ways are presented in percentage in order to determine the extent of using the ways and also the examined techniques are presented in order of their severity in the application. From the result of the analysis, it was concluded that standard cost control practices are being applied by the companies.
