Abstract
Beginning from the age of human history and development, it is recorded that building construction presents one of the basic preoccupations who felt the need to provide themselves a safe place for habitation. This project focuses on the design and construction of a four-bedroom bungalow for a Catholic Priest. The site for this proposed building is located at Toronto bus stop Umuoba Uratta/Mcc road, Owerri North LGA. The site proposed for the construction work measures is 900sqm. The main aim of this work is to design and construct a four bedroom bungalow with modern facilities. This can be achieved through the following objectives To ensure that construction will be carried out properly to ensure the maintainability, functionality and serviceability of this building, to carry out the construction in a manner that people will appreciate and emulate the design and construction pattern. This work shows an estimated cost implication that will enable an interested client to prepare himself for future needs. The construction process was carried out according to the laid down building code of practice. The site was first of all cleared of all trees and shrubs, top soil excavation before the setting out, trench excavation and construction. A detailed work programme and maintenance schedule was shown. The actualization of any building project is not a one man effort but a collective effort, implying that it is a team worker this brings the need for a proper organization with effective and appropriate forecasting, planning and programming at the right time. In successful completion of this work, we, therefore, recommend the following we recommend this work to the architect for designing of project, the quantity surveyors are also recommended for the billing of this work, and we recommend that the work should be kept for reference purposes....
