It informed the health officers on the understanding of health records officers on medical billing in the hospital. Among the objectives was to evaluate the roles of health information officers in accepting online medical billing and to identify the impact of online medical billing. Furthermore, to analyze the problems facing the acceptability of online medical billing. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample staff of University College Hospital, Oyo State. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 80 questionnaires were distributed out of which 80 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that the hospital should hold training courses for managers and chief executive officers to increase their knowledge about the return on investment for the acceptability of online medical billing systems. Also improve the Information Technology infrastructure to overcome technological challenges, barriers or problems. And lastly building or developing and updating online medical billing software in other to cover patient’s information as well appointment as first timer.
