It informed the health officers on the understanding of maternal mortality among women of child bearing age in the hospital. Among the objectives was to find out how maternal mortality is the cause of maternal mortality among women of child bearing age and to know how maternal death is more seen in the healthcare facility. Furthermore, to make a suggestion on how to curb maternal mortality among women of child bearing age in the hospital. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample staff of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 120 questionnaires were distributed out of which 101 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that the government should educate and empower women and girls about maternal health issues review each obstetric patient's risk factors at multidisciplinary staff meetings facilities, conduct simulated obstetric emergencies, implement best practices for managing the care of high-risk pregnant women, formalize relationships between lower and higher resource hospitals on the job or adequate training should be given to the workers to enhance efficient services to the patient and to the hospital management as a whole.
