It informed the health officers on the management of health records as it relates to confidentiality in the hospital. Among the objectives is to assess the methods adopted for the management of health records library in the University of Ilorin teaching hospital Ilorin, Kwara State and to investigate the possible hindrances to the effective confidentiality of patient information in the University of Ilorin teaching hospital Ilorin, Kwara State. Furthermore, to examine the measures adopted for effective confidentiality of patient information in the health records library in the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Ilorin, Kwara State. This research uses descriptive survey to sample staff of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 91 questionnaires were distributed out of which 87 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that there is no standard health records library at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. Hence, management should provide a standard health records library. Meanwhile, the findings showed that there is no adequate filling space in the health records library, however, management should provide adequate filing space in the health records library. And lastly, there should be a law to guide the borrower and user of patients' case note and should be strictly followed so as to avoid the release of information to unauthorized persons and the loss of patients' records.
