It informed the health officers on the approach of healthcare professionals as it relates to the health information system in the hospital. Among the objectives is to establish a practical approach for healthcare professionals on the use of healthcare information systems in Kwara State Civil Service Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State and to find out the challenges faced in the use of healthcare information systems in hospitals. Furthermore, to determine the solutions on the preservation and adaptation of information technology in health records management in the healthcare delivery system. This research uses descriptive survey to sample staff of Kwara State Civil Service Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 70 questionnaires were distributed out of which 60 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that Government should promote the growth of digital records that capture the necessary data for process redesign, routine care and health maintenance, and evaluating success. And they should improve the interoperability, usability, usefulness, and integration of different technologies by adopting standards for interoperability of medical devices and human factors methods. Finally, the government should promote payment methods that reward improvement and better health outcomes.
