Abstract
This project work was conducted to assess the attitude of parents towards their child with disabilities in Ilorin West Local Government Area. It informed the health officers on the understanding of parents regarding children's disabilities in the hospital. Among the objectives was to assess the parental attitude towards their child with disability in Ilorin West L.G.A and to determine if the level of education will influence parental attitude towards their child with a disability in Ilorin. Furthermore, assess if the cultural belief of parents will influence their attitude towards their child with a disability. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample staff of Ilorin West Local Government Area. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 92 questionnaires were distributed out of which 92 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that educational publicity programs should be to organized on how to care and treat the disabled child and the parents should have a positive mindset towards their disabled child.
