Abstract
This research work was conducted to assess the knowledge and practice of Mothers attending child welfare clinics towards the management of febrile convulsion at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo. It informed the health officers of the understanding of mothers regarding febrile convulsions in the hospital. Among the objectives was to determine the level of knowledge of mothers attending child welfare clinics regarding the management of febrile convulsion and to identify the various practices of mothers attending child welfare clinics towards the management of febrile convulsion. Furthermore, to identify factors influencing the management of febrile convulsion. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample mothers attending the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 120 questionnaires were distributed out of which 109 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that there should be provisions for health care service at the strategic location where it can easily be accessible by mothers.  And also they should encourage the promotion of management programs by carrying out outreaches at various locations within the society.
